Workshop (Dessimination of Information)

Ministry of Petroleum and Minerals Resources through TL-EITI Secretariat conducted two days workshop to the district officials in Suai on 8-9 October and Viqueque on 19-20 November 2014  because these two districts will be affected by the Government‟s plan to establish South Coast Project which consists of establishment of Supply Base and refinery plant.

MSG considers that it is important for the community leaders and other stakeholders to be well informed about these projects, what it all means to them in the future and how they can contribute to the success of the projects.

current desimination of the information in the regional level is not sufficient. Therefore, for future workshop or seminar need to be held in a selected different district annually. The MSG noted to carry out all the activities through out the country of course, will require more time and budget supports.

Workshop for Media

Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources through the Secretariat TL-EITI organize a workshop on 26-27 June 2014 only for Media Print and Electronic including, the non-governmental organization (NGO) and relevant government media officials in June 2014.

The objective of the workshop is to share information and build their capacity particularly in relation to the natural resources issues, and the EITI standard. Another workshop was held to the media (print and electronic),

The media and NGOs are considered as important key stakeholders within the country as both have role to provide information to the wider audiences and provide a good feedback and share balanced information to the public to held government accountable for its decision on how to utilize the resources to develop the country and benefit the people.

the government have strive to capacity their citizenship include media, with intention to ensure that the citizenship are well inform about Timor-Leste Natural Resources.
